During the history of the town of Orland, there have been three post offices..

Briefly, the history of these three is as follows:
1. East Orland post office opened on 15 July 1867 and closed on 21 July 1869. It re-opened on 19 November 1878 and is still in operation.
2. North Orland post office opened on 16 October 1889, closed on 22 April 1890, re-opened on 9 June 1890, and closed on 28 February 1913.
3. Orland post office was established on 8 February 1821 and is still operating.

   The circular postmark is approximately 32 mm in diameter. The outside vertical height of the horizontal bars to the right of the circle is 13 mm.
