During the history of the town of Damariscotta, there have been two post offices.
Briefly, the history of these two is as follows:
1. Biscay post office opened on 5 March 1893 and closed on 2 May 1895.
2. Damariscotta post office opened on 14 February 1876 and is still operating.

1893 March 5:

  The circular cancelation is 27.5 mm in diameter.

Damariscotta
1876 February 14:

1876 May 4:
  The earliest cancellations for Damariscotta were likely made by hand, called manuscript cancellations. Based on the correspondence inside, this cover was canceled less than three months after the post office opened.

1905? August 27:
  The circular postmark is 29 mm in diameter.
