During the history of the town of Northfield, there has been only one post office.
Briefly, the hist of this post office is as follows:
1. Northfield post office opened on 26 February 1840, closed on 2 September 1854, re-opened on 7 June 1855, closed on 28 April 1863, re-opened on 26 July 1869, and closed on 30 April 1935.
