This consists of more than 400 web pages on the postal histories of Maine towns, cities, plantations, and unorganized townships in all sixteen counties. Originally researched, created, and published online by V. F. Thomas Co. as the Maine Postal History website, the pages now include illustrations of covers, postmarks, many post office photos, data on openings and closings, and postmaster appointments. The pages are indexed by Post Office name, Town name, or by County and Town name.

Enter here to access The Post Offices of Maine book and database. The 2022 print edition of the book is now out of print, but you can view or download the tables and the text from the book. The book and database contain basic data, in tabular form, on 3300 post offices.
